Community Service Projects
Building skills and confidence through mentorship, education, and career readiness.
The Year-Round Youth Program provides a safe and engaging space for young individuals to develop essential life and career skills outside of school hours. Led by youth, for youth, this after-school program focuses on mentorship, educational support, and hands-on learning experiences to help participants overcome personal and professional barriers. With access to career readiness training, financial literacy workshops, and college preparation resources, youth gain the confidence and tools needed to succeed. The program also provides meals at every session to address food insecurity, ensuring participants are well-nourished and focused as they prepare for their futures.
Providing paid summer jobs and professional development for Detroit’s youth.
As a proud partner of Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT), NB2S connects youth with meaningful summer employment opportunities that provide paid work experience in various industries. This six-week program equips participants with job readiness training, workplace etiquette coaching, and mentorship from industry professionals, helping them develop essential skills and a strong work ethic. By gaining hands-on experience, earning a paycheck, and building professional networks, many participants go on to secure permanent employment, internships, or additional training that supports their long-term career goals.

NB2S believes in the power of giving back, and our Community Service Projects provide youth with opportunities to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Through initiatives such as food drives, neighborhood cleanups, and outreach programs, participants develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while addressing real community needs. These experiences foster a sense of responsibility and civic engagement, instilling a lifelong commitment to service and personal growth while empowering youth to create positive change.
